HD Digital Camcorder Trade Shows

April 30, 2009 by DigitalCamerasInfo · Leave a Comment

If you’re in the market for a hd digital camcorder, how will you choose which one to get? How can you tell which is the best, or the right one for you?

With the rate of changing technology and all the new products coming out its almost impossible for the average consumer to keep up.  So how can we keep ourselved informed short of attending all the consumer trade shows or the photo marketing show?  Depend on the sales representatives, thats how!

Electronic Trade Shows

One of the most anticipated aspects of a trade show like the Consumer Electronics Show is that companies use the increased chance for exposure to showcase their new products.

At these shows they unveil their latest products.  Case in point, if  a hd digital camcorder has new features such as a “robust still feature” or a “high resolution sensor” ’600 fps recording mode, “strong overall video excellence, “ultra small compac body” or exceptional low light sensitivity, they will want the consumers to understand it.  This is where they have the chance to establish the superiority in the market in comparision to other simular type products available.

Experts in the field of electronics routinely attend all the pertinent shows across the globe. They do this as a critical part of their job. They attend, compare and contrast the new products, like hd digital camcorders and other new formats, and then they write digital camcorder (and other) reviews as a way of reporting back to those of us who weren’t fortunate enough to attend the highly anticipated event.

But Really, Can You Trust Them?

So you located a website that has a review of the hd camcorder that you are considering.  How trustworthy is the review?  Is the person reviewing the product reputable?  How can you be certain?

Take a look at the website you’re on. Is it a neutral site, one that is an “equal opportunity critic”? Or do they tend to review certain brands more favorably all the time, or recommend a certain manufacturer’s products and exclude others? These sorts of things will help you determine the validity of the reviewer’s opinion and which digital camera to buy.

Some sites are known to be more reliable, like  pcmag’s and cnet’s website. If you’re on a website that belongs to the manufacturer, only a fool would expect it to be unbiased. In that case, let the buyer beware!

Cheap Digital Cameras

Capturing life’s passing moments was considered a luxury or a troublesome task in the past. Photography seemed a painstaking process that required specialist expertise or complicated equipment. The convergence of Information Technology with imaging has made the concept of real digital imaging a reality. Images that were previously recorded on film can now be stored in bits and bytes to be enjoyed whenever required. The emergence of the digital camera has changed the way photography is being viewed the world over.

Highly innovative organizations such as Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Kodak and many others who have been revered brands when it comes to photography, introduced and continuously reinvented the digital camera and its functionality to a wide range of photographers. These organizations have ensured that they produce digital cameras that can be used by a wide spectrum of photographers. While they have developed high quality feature rich solutions for professional photographers, they have also come up with low cost solutions for domestic users who simply want to capture the moment.

These low cost solutions have provided the opportunity for many users both great and small the world over to experience the power of digital imaging at a lower cost. Cheap digital cameras have given these users the opportunity to capture anything they want at any time and cherish these moments for a life time.

The quality of pictures taken using cheap digital cameras may not meet the standards required by a professional, but they more than meet the expectations of an amateur user. The images captured by cheap digital cameras will usually be of a lower definition. The options available to manipulate the quality of the image are also usually limited on cheaper digital cameras. Advanced options such as face recognition and preset scene modes are generally not available on lower cost digital cameras. The resolution of cheap digital cameras is often lower, resulting in the quality of the image being significantly lower.

Professional photographers will often stay away from cheap digital cameras because of the lack of flexibility to take the picture to their level of satisfaction. Cheap digital cameras will also be less robust and durable. Photographers looking for quality, longevity and durability in their cameras will be likely to veer away from these low cost digital cameras.

Cheap digital cameras while not catering to the needs of professionals will often be more than satisfactory to beginners who are looking for a low cost solution to capture their memories and make them last a lifetime.
